5.6-magnitude quake hits south of Fiji Islands: USGS

NEW YORK, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 jolted south of the Fiji Islands at 21:22:49 GMT on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 208.9 km, was initially determined to be at 24.43 degrees south latitude and 177.63 degrees west longitude. ■
